DICE and EA are preparing for the announcement of "Battlefield 6," according to a new report. Cryptic teasers online are seemingly suggesting that the major installment could officially debut soon, the report believes. EA has been releasing a game from the Swedish game developer DICE every year since 2015, but it looks like this year is a break from this pattern.

The latest information about the possible announcement of "Battlefield 6" was reported by Gamerant. The site pointed out multiple teases from the official Twitter account of "Battlefield." the site believes that the game's announcement or something similar could happen very soon.

Last week several teasers were uploaded by "Battlefield" YouTuber JackFrags. Most of the videos are about "Battlefield 5," but ends with the camera focusing on a pocket watch. DICE's Niklas Astrand seemingly acknowledged the odd ending and responded with "tick tick tick..." Some fans believe that the clock is apparently teasing for some sort of "Battlefield" series.

In addition to this, a Twitter account surfaced online recently. The said account only tweets an odd cryptic video that shows a numerical code also tweeted by one of DICE's developers. The footage comes with music that, according to fans, is playable backward and matches the video chatter from "Battlefield 3."

DICE may consider using "Battlefield 6" to introduce the franchise to a modern warfare setting, the site speculated. The recent offerings of the series are set during World War 1 and World War II. However, the popularity of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" could have influenced the gaming studio's decision; the site continued.

Aside from this, the cryptic videos could be about "battlefield" remaster of some sort. "Battlefield 3" was a very popular game when it was released, and since there is no new "Battlefield" game EA might be planning on filling the series with a "Battlefield 3 Remake." If EA is indeed planning to announce "Battlefield 6," The possible platform could be the PS5 Showcase event happening on September 16.

Although Sony's event will center on PS5 launch titles, there is a chance that it might introduce some titles not scheduled to release until 2021. But, at this point, all of these are speculations. Since EA and DICE have not yet confirmed that "Battlefield 6" exists, take this information with a pinch of salt. Meanwhile, "Battlefield 5" is currently available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
