Power Book II: Ghost episode 3 is coming this weekend on Starz, with the title "Play the Game." The episode will see the beginning of Tasha St. Patrick's (Naturi Naughton) trial. She's in a tight position after taking the fall and claiming the crime committed by his son, Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.).
What makes Tasha's situation even more complicated is that she was accused of being part of her husband's, Ghost (Omari Hardwick), shady business. Now, she will be making a bold proclamation, based on the promo of Power Book II: Ghost episode 3.
Tasha is willing to go on the stand in her trial. Yet, the situation won't be that easy for her. For instance, she knows that she didn't kill Ghost. Tariq was the one who killed his father. She just took the fall in order to protect her son and his future.
Also, Tasha needs to prove to everyone that she is not part of Ghost's criminal empire. She must find a way to assist her innocence. However, Saxe (Shane Johnson) will do everything to pin everything down on her, as well. He is determined to bring down the family and reveal the truth behind Ghost's death.
Tasha found a way to clear her name from everything, but this means pinning the murder down on an innocent person. She claimed that Tommy (Joseph Sikora) was the one who killed her husband. There is a possibility that this character could come back at some point in the series.
As for what else is coming in Power Book II: Ghost episode 3, Tariq is struggling with the weight of providing for the mounting legal defense of his mother and the rigors of Ivy League life. His complicated situation leads him to get closer to Monet's (May J. Blige) empire.
He'll be left with no choice, forcing him to work with Monet. He must find a way to earn money and pay Davis McLean (Method Man), who's representing Tasha's case. He'll be involved in drug trades and other illegal activities of Monet, making his life even more complicated.
Tariq is in a very tough position. It's interesting to see what else he can do or how far he can go just to get his mother out of prison. But, while he can find a way to prove Tasha's innocence and cover up the crime he committed, there could be huge consequences along the way.
Power Book II: Ghost episode 3 airs on Sunday, Sept. 20, on Starz.
