Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have quit royal life and are not obliged to complete any royal duties anymore. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently spending their time and energy on projects that they have chosen themselves.

Despite their royal exit, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still continued their speaking engagements. In fact, the couple had been doing a lot of event appearances, which many expected them to earn $1 million from it.

According to a leaked document, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are estimated to cost $1 million (£774,132) per appearance. But an events manager claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s outrageous demands may put off potential clients. Because of that, the couple may earn lesser than predicted.

"The contract paperwork appears to read that the speakers have full control of the client's event. It certainly raises eyebrows and will put off many potential large corporations,” they said, adding that clients don’t usually invite stars who would tell them what to do and run the event that they are hosting.

Instead of the estimated $1 million, the source shared that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be earning $250k to $400k. The insider then pointed out that there will be discussions and negotiations until both camps reach a compromise.

The Daily Telegraph recently published the terms and conditions that event organizers must comply with to secure Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as virtual speakers. The list fits four pages that include allowing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to agree on who will introduce them. The couple should also give their consent to who will moderate the discussion.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a deal with New York-based Harry Walker Agency back in June. The said agency that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed up for is the same one as former U.S. President Barack Obama. Its other high-profile clients include former first couple Hillary and Bill Clinton, and "Queen of Talk" Oprah Winfrey.

This is not the first time that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are claimed to be controlling. According to a royal expert, the book Finding Freedom just revealed the “selfish” and “controlling side” of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“They come across as a couple with many talents but who are also extremely selfish and controlling,” Richard Fitzwilliams said.
