Houston saw the proof this season that the tandem of James Harden and Russell Westbrook is not enough to win an NBA title. The Rockets will need to make the adjustments in the offseason that will make for a better campaign next season and one player that the team can count on is Kevin Love.

The Rockets trading for Love is nothing new and that is Jackson Gatlin is floating the idea again of the Cavs power forward joining up with Harden. Gatlin is proposing a three-team trade scenario that will also involve the Timberwolves.

The scheme will see Houston sending Eric Gordon and Danuel House Jr. to Minnesota then Cleveland will get to pick James Johnson plus future draft picks. There will be more exchanges among the teams concerned but the bottom line is it will be worth their trouble, and the Rockets will finally get their hands on Love.

According to Clutch Points, Cleveland should be willing to offload the veteran big man chiefly because the team is on rebuilding mode, and the best way to implement such a mission is to get young assets in return. Love too holds a lucrative contract that will cost the Cavs an average of $30 million in the next few years so getting rid of that obligation the soonest is certainly a blessing.

The Rockets, of course, will get a boost with Love on board next season. He is a force that matters inside but the best part, Love can also make his living from the outside and with impressive accuracy. Such talent will make things happen for Houston and the team is looking to do better next season.

Gatlin said having Love around is a big deal for the Rockets. The analyst reminded that the power forward was part of the Cleveland triangle that included LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. And that crew won the NBA championship at a time that the Golden State Warriors were believed to be unstoppable.

It's not hard to imagine what Love will bring to the table working with Harden to win the NBA title. The sweet-shooting big man will surely increase the chance of Houston becoming champions by providing support and creating situations for Harden.

The only question now is Love's willingness to bring his game to Texas. From the way things are going at Cleveland, the superstar is approaching a stage where he is relegated to a supporting role and making life easier for emerging Cavaliers stars.

According to Fansided, the best scenario available for Love at the Cavs camp is to play mentor and let the likes of Larry Nance Jr., which isn't bad at all. However, he might prefer playing his last few years gunning for an NBA ring or two and that he can do in Houston with a higher chance of success.
