The release of the iOS 14 update made it possible for users to translate webpages natively using their Safari browser.

Users who have updated to Apple's iOS 14 can now use their Safari browsers to translate the language natively on webpages. The ability to translate foreign-language webpages from within Safari is a handy feature that is welcomed by many Apple users. At present, however, the feature is only available to users in the U.S.

Using Safari on iOS 14 to translate a webpage is very easy and only takes a couple of taps. Just open Safari and go to the foreign-language website you would like to translate. Once there, tap the aA button located in the left section of the address bar and choose the language you would like the website to be translated to, then tap Enable Translation.

When using Safari on iOS 14 to translate a foreign-language webpage, there are instances that you may not see the Language option in the dropdown menu when you tap the aA button. There are several reasons for this but most likely, the webpage you are looking forward to translating is not compatible with the translation feature of Safari or that the language on the webpage is not supported.

To view the original and non-translated webpage, tap on View Original in the address bar options panel of your Safari on iOS 14. You can also tap on the option to Report Translation Issue if ever you encounter one. One thing that you need to remember though is that the preferred language list on your iPhone Settings plays a huge role in the languages you can translate to and from.

You can add more languages on your iPhone to allow your Safari on iOS 14 to translate a foreign-language webpage. To do this, open Settings and tap General, then tap Language & Region. Tap Add Language, and then choose a language from the list. Tap the Keep option to keep the current language that your iOS device is using and confirm that your new language selection is an additional Webpage Translation option. After performing these steps, the next time you go to a compatible foreign-language webpage, you will see the language you added available among the translation options.

That is how easy it is to add more languages to your iPhone. Now, you have given your Safari on iOS 14 the ability to translate webpages from a foreign language into a language you can understand. At the moment, supported languages include Brazilian Portuguese, English, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Russian, French, and German.
