There is little doubt that Dwayne Johnson is really good at hyping up his upcoming film Black Adam. The Jungle Cruise star had previously dropped several teasers about what to expect in the DC Extended Universe flick in a virtual panel during DC FanDome and continues to do so on social media.

Not surprisingly, one of Dwayne Johnson's most recent posts is a celebration of Aldis Hodge's casting as Hawkman in the highly anticipated movie. Interestingly, Johnson revealed that he was the one who broke the good news to his new Black Adam co-star.

It's no secret that Hawkman is one of the most important character that is set to appear in Black Adam. As the leader of the Justice Society of America, the DC superhero will be working with Doctor Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone in the film and could go up against Dwayne Johnson's antihero. With that in mind, the DCEU needed someone who could stand up against Johnson and they found exactly that in Aldis Hodge.

Needless to say, Dwayne Johnson was excited about the Hawkman casting. In line with that, he decided to share some details about Aldis Hodge's casting on his official Instagram account. In the post, Johnson welcomed the Straight Outta Compton star into the DCEU.

"THIS IS HAWKMAN," Johnson wrote. "A pleasure to welcome @aldis_hodge to BLACK ADAM. HAWKMAN is a critical leading role for our movie, as he is the fiery leader of the JSA (Justice Society of America) and one of the most beloved and legendary characters in the DC UNIVERSE."

Dwayne Johnson then revealed that he personally called Aldis Hodge to let him know that he had been cast in the role of Hawkman in Black Adam. However, Hodge initially didn't believe him thinking that he had received a prank call. Luckily, things changed when Johnson got serious.

"Aldis, this is DJ. I just called to say thank you so much for sending in your audition - it was great and I really appreciate the efforts you made. Just wanted to say thanks and best of luck in all you do. And one more thing - welcome to Black Adam," Johnson reportedly said to Hodge.

From there, Aldis Hodge realized that it was all true and immediately celebrated the casting. Needless to say, the cast of Black Adam is going to be amazing.

Black Adam also stars Noah Centineo, who will play Atom Smasher. The film is currently looking for actors to portray Doctor Fate and Cyclone. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
