He might be playing the Caped Crusader these days but there is little doubt that Robert Pattinson cannot escape his other iconic roles in the past. After all, people were initially uncertain whether the Twilight star is the best candidate to play a young Bruce Wayne in The Batman.

Luckily, opinions were changed when the first trailer for the DC Extended Universe flick was released. On the other hand, Robert Pattinson still couldn't help but compare working on The Batman to his preparations for his sparkly role in Twilight.

Robert Pattinson has taken on several iconic roles in his career. He first rose to fame as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire before winning the role of Edward Cullen in Twilight.

From there, Pattinson has played diverse characters, having recently portrayed a questionable pastor in the Tom Holland movie The Devil All The Time. Nevertheless, he still thinks playing Batman is quite similar to portraying a vampire in the adaptation of Stephanie Meyers' books.

Robert Pattinson recently spoke to Total Film about his preparations for The Batman. Interestingly, the Lighthouse star admitted he felt the pressure of taking on a legendary role before comparing it to being a part of Twilight.

There is little doubt that Robert Pattinson is someone who welcomes a challenge and that's exactly what he's getting with The Batman. Luckily for him, it sounds like the Matt Reeves film will be very different from other movies focusing on the Dark Knight.

"There's a slightly different feeling when you know loads and loads of people are going to watch something you're working on. It's not an origin tale, and you're meeting him in the early days," Pattinson said before adding how Bruce Wayne will manage to become his "best self."

The Batman is currently in production. The film is scheduled for release on October 1, 2021.
