Kai Havertz did impress in the last few games with Chelsea and his hat-trick performance early in the season only added to the high expectations. According to pundits, Frank Lampard can get the most out of the £72 million signing if played with the appropriate system, which should see the 21-year-old in his most optimal position.

The season so far saw Havertz scoring three goals and figuring in the completion of another but Jamie Carragher said the young midfielder can certainly show more. The former Liverpool star said Havertz seemed ill-fitting with the game style being employed by Lampard.

"He almost looks like a No. 10 and we don't see them as much in football now. Where he played today, I don't think that suited Chelsea," Sport Bible reported the pundit as saying.

Carragher made clear he's not out to question the young player but the former defender is convinced the Germany international will shine even brighter if Lampard will make the changes that will highlight the player's exceptional skills.

The Blues coach will need to finetune his approach that will make Havertz more productive.

Ian Wright supported Carragher's view. The ex-Arsenal man said Chelsea will need to get the ball more often to Havertz. And should that happen, the winger will be a player that the Premier League will be raving about in the years to come.

"That guy has got to be in the middle of the game because he's going to make things happen because he's so talented ... Kai Havertz is going to be somebody that we're going to be raving about as soon as he finds his feet," Metro reported Wright as saying.

The pundit added that Chelsea spent big this summer to beef up the roster and it was clear Lampard had achieved the goals he set out. However, the tweaks made will take time to reflect the results desired, which the Blues boss had admitted in recent statements.

Before Chelsea can prove that the millions spent in the transfer window were worth the trouble, Wright said Lampard will need to get the players on positions where they will shine the most. This is true for Havertz and Timo Werner, another Bundesliga sensation that the Blues acquired in June.

Wright said there is little doubt that Werner, signed from RB Leipzig, is a sharp talent that will make his mark in England.

Once the right system is in place and the new players star appearing in more games, the pundit reckoned that they will be picking up in confidence and their level of competitiveness. When that happens, Wright expects that Chelsea will start teams in successions.
