The Incredibles 3 hasn't been officially given a thumbs up. But, this is something that Pixar fans want to happen. The second installment arrived after waiting for over a decade. Now, viewers may need to wait a little longer in order to see another installment.
It took 14 years for the second movie to be released, so we won't likely be getting The Incredibles 3 anytime soon. The sequel aired in 2018, and if the next installment follows the pattern, we could expect the film premiering at some point in 2032.
In an interview with Deadline in the past, writer/director Brad Bird made it clear that he isn't a rush in doing another installment. He explained that he needed to do something else for a while, and then see what the future holds for the movie. Pixar may not do another movie unless Bird was on board, as well.
As for the cast of The Incredibles 3, the Parr family is set to return. That means Craig T Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, and Huck Milner will be coming back to voice Bob, Helen, Violet, and Dash, respectively. But depending on the wait, Dash could be re-cast as he was in the second movie.
In addition, Samuel L Jackson might be returning as Frozone, while Brad Bird as Edna Mode. Sophia Bush also said that she's open to returning Voyd, an aspiring superhero who can create portals. It remains to be seen whether or not new characters are coming in the potential movie.
The plot of The Incredibles 3 remains unknown at the moment. But, some speculated that there could be a time jump this time around, with Jack-Jack getting older and leaning towards the dark side. Another story that could be explored in the third movie is the return of the Underminer.
This is a villain that popped up in both the first and second movies. Bird teased on Twitter that the Underminer escaped, which means the creature is out there and might cause chaos later on. This is something that might be addressed in the third installment.
Moreover, Bird revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he had ideas about what to put in the second moving, but he couldn't fit them in due to production timeline changes. There is a possibility that these ideas will be put in the next installment.
Since nothing has officially started, the trailer for The Incredibles 3 isn't available right now. Pixar has yet to confirm the movie, and other things should be considered, as well -- including production start. Hence, we can't expect any clips for a couple of years.
