Donald Trump and Melania Trump shocked the world after announcing that they tested positive for coronavirus. The First Couple took their announcements to Twitter hours after confirming White House Senior Counselor Hope Hicks's contraction.

As the public continues to observe and wait for updates about their health conditions, publications tackled the risks that the Trumps are facing. As it happens, the U.S. President has "clear" risk factors, according to BBC.

Trump turned 74 earlier in June. By "virtue of his age," he belongs in the "high-risk group." Based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, individuals with ages between 65 and 74 face a "five times higher risk" of hospitalization and a "90 times greater risk" of death due to coronavirus than young adults from ages 18 to 29.

Aside from his age, his weight, also, places him in a much riskier position. Donald Trump weighs about 244 pounds at 6 feet 3 inches.

In calculating his body mass index, the figures give him 30.5, which makes him "clinically obese." The CDC states that obesity "triples the risk" of hospitalization due to COVID-19, according to CNN.

The U.S. President faces another risk because he is a male. Reports said that men are more likely to "suffer severe" complications from coronavirus than women, and may even die.

It remains undisclosed, though, whether Trump has other medical conditions. His latest physical, reportedly, revealed that his blood pressure is "slightly elevated."

There is no evidence, however, that he has other health conditions, like cancer, diabetes, or kidney disease. But, if he has, then this puts him into a higher risk.

Following all the talks about the risks Donald Trump faces amid his virus infection, Nathalie McDermott of Kings College London stated that having risks does not necessarily mean he will suffer or succumb to the illness. She, then, added that Trump is the President of the United States. Therefore, he certainly has the "best healthcare in the world."

Reports, later on, explained that the details and percentages of these risks are just the "big picture." It is a "pattern" that has become apparent across the globe. Hence, Trump's case may "wildly" differ from others as it depends on several factors.

Officials from the White House stated that the U.S. President has only developed "mild symptoms." Melania Trump, also, shared this on her social media post, adding that they are "feeling good" and looking forward to a "speedy recovery."
