Fargo season 4 episode 4 is coming this weekend on FX, with the title "The Pretend War." There is a new significant story coming for Loy (Chris Rock) within this episode. He's going to make another move in order to secure his future.

Fargo season 4 episode 4 will continue to see most of the characters finding ways to live amidst the power struggle. A lot of stories will further unfold given that the series has just previously premiered. The show tends to be brutal, dark, but funny at times.

The new installment has established all these patterns, especially when it comes to tone. Still, there's a way for the series to make each episode unique in their own way. Based on the synopsis of the upcoming episode, Loy will retaliate, while Josto (Jason Schwartzman) asserts his leadership.

In addition, Fargo season 4 episode 4 sees Ethelrida (E'myri Crutchfield) making a discovery and the walls have started to close in on Odis. Since this is an anthology series, it remains to be seen what would be the biggest twist this time around.

In terms of ratings, the live ratings of the first two episodes were, reportedly, down compared to the numbers seen in the third installment. Yet, it should be noted that most people are watching late or streaming now. Hence, the decline doesn't mean there aren't a lot of viewers watching it.

Meanwhile, it seems like season 5 will happen even though the fourth installment is on its early run. The story in each season exists on its own nature since it's an anthology series. There's no pressure in delivering new episodes immediately as it doesn't follow a certain plotline.

However, although another installment is feasible, we won't be getting a confirmation anytime soon. In a report via Deadline, series creator Noah Hawley discussed the future of the show during the FX press event. He made it clear that they are not ruling a potential season 5 out.

The challenge here is that they don't just have one idea. They have hundreds of it, as well as characters that they need to percolate. For now, their top priority is to wrap up the entirety of the current installment before proceeding into a new chapter.

Fargo season 4 episode 4 airs on Sunday, Oct. 11, on FX. The episode is directed by Dearbhla Walsh and written by Stefani Robinson and Noah Hawley.
