Supernatural season 15 is the final installment of The CW series. Since this is the final run, we're going to see familiar faces returning at some point. This is a way to honor some of the characters who have been part of the show over the past years.

For instance, it has been confirmed that Emily Swallow is returning as Amara in Supernatural season 15. The actress is set to appear in episode 15, titled "Gimme Shelter," airing next week Thursday, Oct. 15. Her arrival only makes sense, considering her relationship with God (Rob Benedict) and Winchesters.

Amara's got a history with Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles). It's interesting to see how their bond would be presented within this particular episode. One of the recently-released photos featured the brother seemingly looking for something.

The photo coincides with the synopsis of episode 15, in which Sam and Dean go on a journey to search for Amara. Their hunt for her won't be easy as they may encounter a lot of hindrances along the way. Some unexpected events might happen that could slow down their journey.

Also, Amara will appear for another episode after this one. That means more stories are coming for her down the road. It remains to be seen how Sam and Dean could find her. But, she could bring more chaos to the Winchesters, especially she's known as The Darkness.

Meanwhile, there is also an interesting storyline coming for Castiel (Misha Collins) and Jack (Alexander Calvert) in Supernatural season 15. We're going to see the two working together in episode 15 to solve a certain case involving the members of a local church.

But, perhaps, the biggest story that needed to be addressed here is the God arc. This is something that should be wrapped up before the show officially concludes. Once we get a resolution on this, we could see personal storylines for most characters.

The final episode of Supernatural season 15 will bring personal stories rather than mythology-based conflicts. Speaking to a preview interview with TVLine, co-showrunner Andrew Dabb teased that the penultimate ties up most of the mythology stories, and the finale would be an emotional one.

The episode will focus more on Sam, Dean, and the family that they've built around them. There won't be fight scenes in here anymore. This dramatic episode will honor the Winchesters and others throughout their journey for 15 years.

Supernatural season 15 returns on Thursday, Oct. 8, on The CW.
