NCIS: New Orleans season 7 filming is currently underway. The series wasn't able to get back in production immediately due to the current global health crisis. Now, some of the new photos show how the cast and crew are preparing and how everyone operates amidst the pandemic.

In one of his latest Twitter post, showrunner Jan Nash teased fans what's coming in NCIS: New Orleans season 7 moving forward. The photos feature series star Scott Bakula, who plays Dwayne Pride, who's seemingly at the forefront of everything that's going to happen.

One of the images showed him in familiar surroundings, while another one showed Bakula behind-the-scenes wearing a mask and not playing his character. The actor seems to be aware that being the lead of a series is important. They'll look at him as a leader, as well as how he should act and behave.

The cast and crew need to follow certain health guidelines and protocols in order to ensure their safety while working amidst the pandemic. All of them are required to wear a face mask and will only be removed when filming scenes. The proper social distancing measures should be followed, as well.

The new season also kicks off with a pandemic-themed storyline. The episode will reference some of the events that happened in the real world over the past few months. We're going to see most of the characters dealing with the health crisis.

As for what else is coming in NCIS: New Orleans season 7, it would be nice to see Pride establishing some stability in life after what he's been through. He's been dealing with happened to him in the past and experiencing great trauma. Now, it's time for him to start conquering some of his demons.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Bakula's wife, Chelsea Field, will be a series regular in the new season. The actress plays Rita Devereaux, who recurred in the series for the past four seasons. She was first introduced during the second half of season 3.

Rita was a Reserve Navy Commander in the JAG Corps and a District Attorney. But then, she came back to her town of New Orleans to pursue her relationship with Pride. Fields' promotion means that her character's relationship with Pride will be further explored in NCIS: New Orleans season 7.

It's interesting to see how their bond will evolve moving forward. This is also a chance to see a little bit of Pride's stability while exploring new levels of the local and federal legal system. On a personal level, Field and Bakula could spend more time working together.

NCIS: New Orleans season 7 is expected to arrive in the fall.
