Apple sends out invites for its October 13 'Hi, Speed' event, confirming the date which rumors indicate is about the official launch of Apple's iPhone 12.

The widespread rumors about the launch of Apple's iPhone12 series before mid-October appear true as Apple begins sending out invites for an October 13 virtual event. The Cupertino-based tech giant teased the occasion with the tagline 'Hi, Speed,' which seems to hint at the new speed of the iPhone 12 with its A14 processor and 5G connectivity.

A few months ago, many observers thought Apple is going to launch iPhone 12 in September but as the date drew nearer, it became clear that there will be no announcement of new iPhones in its annual September event. Subsequently, rumors about the launch of the new iPhone 12 sometime before mid-October started circulating. The announcement of Apple about its virtual 'Hi, Speed' event for October 13 appears to be an affirmation of such rumors.

Much like the 'Time Flies' event held last September where Apple introduced the new Apple Watch 6 Series and a redesigned iPad Air, the 'Hi, Speed' event scheduled for October 13 is also going to be completely virtual and streamed live from its Apple Park headquarters at One Apple Park Way in Cupertino, California. Though Apple did not say anything about an iPhone 12 series launch, many are expecting the highly anticipated event will focus on the new iPhones.

Apple's October 13 'Hi, Speed' event marks the second major event held by the Cupertino-based company within the last month. Observers are sure that the company will use the event as the launching pad of the new iPhone 12 series, as well as other products like the redesigned HomePod and the rumored EarPods Studio.

Industry observers also say that the tagline "Hi, Speed" is a clear indication of the technology that goes into the new Apple products. According to rumors, iPhone 12 is going to feature 5G connectivity and is powered by the A14 processor. There are also whispers going around that the event will feature the smallest iPhone in many years, the iPhone 12 Mini.

While Apple is not making any comments on rumors about its October 13 'Hi, Speed' event, the graphics on the invite the company sent out appear to make hints about the iPhone 12, technologies, and other products. Apple fans say the circular rings remind them of the new Siri interface and also appear to resemble the top of the HomePod amid rumors of Apple launching a smaller version of the speaker unit. Beyond the rings, however, the invite does not give any more hints at what the Cupertino-based company is going to announce at its October 13 'Hi, Speed' event except to state that the event is going to be live-streamed across the website of Apple, in the Apple TV app, and possibly on YouTube.
