Outlander season 6 is not in production at the moment. There is no clear timetable when filming could officially begin. But, some rumors suggest that cast and crew won't be able to go back to work until 2021. Despite the delay, Starz has been sharing videos featuring some cast members.
For instance, then series' official Twitter account recently shared a video featuring John Bell, who plays Young Ian Murray. However, the clip didn't share information about Outlander season 6. Instead, it features the actor answering rapid-fire questions.
Bell revealed that he likes sushi and he could have it for the rest of his life, while the next place he wanted to visit is the Shetland Islands. When it comes to what animal he would be, the actor said he's more like a crane, which is something elegant.
He also shared that his favorite movie is The Shining and the song that's been stuck in his head in Bebe Rexha's Harder. His ideal day off is long lie-in, horseback riding, cooking, as well as popcorn and movies. As for whose career he admires, Bell answered Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep.
Meanwhile, Outlander season 6 was originally set to begin filming shortly after the season 5 finale. However, the wait might be longer now due to the current global health crisis. Because of this, fans used the term "Droughtlander" to describe the long wait.
But, Bell previously teased that the Droughtlander might be over soon. He hinted that the pre-production for the new season has seemingly started. In his previous Instagram Stories, the actor revealed that he began preparing for the latest installment.
Bell posted a mirror selfie, where he's beginning to grow Young Ian's trademark Mohawk style. He also teased that he's on the "day1" of his Mohawk mission. The actor post is an indication that his character is returning in Outlander season 6.
A lot of fans are expecting Young Ian's return in the new season and hoping to find out more about the his backstory. The character has gone through a lot and it's interesting to see what else happened to him in the past. In season 5, he came back to the Fraser Ridge after spending time with the Mohawk.
Young Ian experienced a lot of heartbreaks during his time here, where he even questioned his will to live. His storyline holds many secrets, and some of these might be revealed in the upcoming installment. After all, he becomes more integral to Fraser's Ridge ecosystem.
Outlander season 6 is arriving in late 2021 or early 2022 on Starz.
