Warner Bros. has yet to officially announce the coming of Joker 2, but rumors have it a sequel will be definitely in the works. In fact, there will be two movie sequels and a huge sum to secure Joaquin Phoenix's return as the Clown Prince of Crime.

Phoenix is, reportedly, being offered $50 million to do Joker 2 and Joker 3, Devdiscourse noted. The first movie's director, Todd Phillips, is said to be in talks with Warner Bros. to explore the possibility of doing a trilogy, telling Joker's story.

With the success of the first film, earning $335.5 million in the U.S. alone and $1.074 billion worldwide, it became the sixth highest-grossing movie of 2019. It is also the highest-grossing R-rated film in movie history and the first R-rated film that passed the billion-dollar mark.

In an interview, Phillips commended the film for being about "gunpowder" when most films were in the "dust." If the sequel would push through, he wanted it to have the same theme and lighting just like the original movie.

So, what will possibly happen in Joker 2? According to We Got This Covered, new details about the second movie installment will "blow-off" the Jokerverse.

The known insider Daniel Richtman revealed Joker 2 would feature "multiple Jokers." After the violent riot that swept the streets of Gotham City, leaving Thomas and Wartha Wayne killed, the Patreon writer claimed there would be several Joker wannabes, inspired by Arthur Fleck (Phoenix).

Warner Bros. is, allegedly, looking for a new actor to play as the Joker, although it remains to be seen if this one will be younger or older. If it will be an aged party clown, the studio may consider Jim Carry to take the role.

However, rumors have it this new Joker is maybe for Matt Reeves' the new The Batman universe. Anyhow, the alleged "multiple Jokers" plotline for Joker 2 is already set whatever the rumor is.

To recall, after the first movie's release last year, Phillips seemed to suggest Fleck might not be the actual Joker who became to be Batman's nemesis. So, it is not far that he may, indeed, introduce multiple Jokers in Joker 2 for a major twist.

One of these Jokers may become the real archenemy of Batman and not Fleck himself. However, fans shall only take this assumption with a grain of salt as Warner Bros. has yet to confirm anything about Joker 2
