MiHoYo's "Genshin Impact" is the new big-name in the action role-playing genre in the industry and while there are 'plans' for the next-gen gaming consoles' port, it looks like Microsoft's Xbox is not on the developer's list.

In an interview conducted by IGN Japan, a spokesperson of MihoYo shared more details about "Genshin Impact." he also shared some information on the studio's plan for releasing the hit title to the next-gen gaming consoles. The spokesperson mentioned about future visual improvements to the game, which underlines that it would be more than just a simple port to newer consoles.

Unfortunately, the spokesperson did not mention what next-gen gaming consoles "Genshin Impact" would release soon. However, the studio explicitly stated that it will not release on Microsoft's Xbox, maybe for now. There was no explanation for this from the gaming studio, but the spokesperson shared that "we currently don't have any plans for an Xbox version of the game."

It is hard to conclude about the reason why MiHoYo does not have any plans for developing "Genshin Impact" for the Xbox Series X. It could be due to the poor sales performance of the console in the region in the past. Probably MiHoYo has a contract with Sony that restricts it from launching the game on Microsoft's gaming console.

At this point, those are just assumptions since it is hard to draw any conclusions about the developer's statement of disinterest. But, since the spokesperson used the term 'currently,' it should give hope to Xbox users that maybe "Genshin Impact" could launch on Xbox int eh future. Aside from this, the interview also outlined what MiHoYo has in store for its players.

The spokesperson shared that "Genshin Impact" is a live service game and that the developers will continuously develop the action RPG over time. There will be new content and gameplay while the studio updates the game, the spokesperson assured fans. MiHoYo also encouraged the "Genshin Impact" community to be vocal about the changes they wish to see in the game and mentioned that players' feedback is crucial for the ongoing development.

MiHoYo also plans to expand the world of Genshin Impact" by introducing new characters to the current 23-count roster. Players could also expect new character-specific missions soon in the game. Moreover, MiHoYo would introduce new side quests and a third city in "Genshin Impact" aside from the current Liyue and Mondstadt.

"Genshin Impact" is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, iOS and Android devices.
