The upcoming The Flash movie starring Ezra Miller is beginning to sound like one of the biggest crossover projects in the near future. It has already been confirmed that both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck are set to reprise their roles as Bruce Wayne from Batman Returns and Justice League, respectively. Now, it looks like Chris O'Donnell, who played Robin in Batman Forever, is potentially joining the DC Extended Universe flick as well.

It's no secret that The Flash will be an adaptation of the popular comic book story arc Flashpoint which saw Barry Allen travelling back into time for one sole purpose: to prevent the death of his mother Nora Allen. However, his actions has several consequences including Thomas Wayne becoming Batman instead of Bruce Wayne and Aquaman sinking most of Western Europe. Needless to say, this means the film will bring in most of the Justice League to properly portray the complicated storyline.

Interestingly, The Flash is already set to bring in two Batmans. It was previously confirmed that Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck have both signed on to the DC Extended Universe movie. They will be joined by Ray Fisher who will return as Victor Stone aka Cyborg despite ongoing tensions with Warner Bros. But what are the chances that an unexpected character from another Batman film will show up in Ezra Miller's standalone flick?

According to Screenrant, The Flash is the perfect opportunity for Warner Bros. to pursue a discontinued project that would focus on Chris O'Donnell's Dick Grayson. O'Donnell played Robin in Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever and was supposed to star in a standalone film focusing on his character's transformation into Nightwing. Unfortunately, the project was scrapped due to the backlash to Batman & Robin along with the planned Batman 3.

The idea of Chris O'Donnell returning as Dick Grayson and becoming Nightwing is a welcome one for fans. However, it is important to point out that Nightwing was not one of the important characters to play a role in the Flashpoint storyline. In addition to that, there have been no updates about the Batman Forever star being considered for The Flash. Stay tuned for more updates about this story.

The Flash will be directed by Andy Muschietti and will star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen. The film is already expected to begin production by begin in March 2021. It is then scheduled for release on November 4, 2022.
