Pokemon The Movie: Coco is the 23rd film in the franchise and a new promo has teased what is about to come. It's initially set to be out in July, but it has been moved due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this summer, the film has been given a new release date in Japan.
The new promo revealed the original songs performed by Okazaki, including "Show Window," Comicbook noted. Despite being a brief clip, it gives a glimpse of new bits of footage not seen in the previous promos or trailers.
Tetsuo Yajima returns to do another Pokemon film after Pokemon: The Power of Us. He also co-writes the new movie with the series writer, Atsuhiro Tomioka.
Moka Kamishiraishi leads the film as Coco, while Kankuro Nakamura plays the role of Zarude. Also, in the movie are Shoko Nakagawa as the researcher named Karen and Koichi Yamadera as another researcher called Professor Zed.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen what Pokemon The Movie: Coco is about to feature, but it will be the anime debut of the newest Mythical Pokemon. The film will officially introduce Zarude from the franchise's video games.
Zarude has a close connection with Coco. Ash will also find himself amid of another major conflict that they have to solve.
The new film is also expected to continue the tradition of featuring a new kind of Ash in a single storyline. However, fans shall take this assumption with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed yet until the movie's release.
In addition, Asap Land reported that Pokemon The Movie: Coco's official synopsis revealed there would be a jungle far from the inhabited center of the infamous Okoya Forest. It is the paradise for Pokemon that has stringent laws that forbid the strangers to gain access.
Here lives the boy named Coco, who is raised by the mythical Pokemon Zarude. Coco believes he is like Ash and Pikachu and goes his way to make his first "human friends." However, with the crisis that is about to happen in Okoya Forest, they will all be seriously tested.
Pokemon The Movie: Coco is set to be out on Dec. 25 in Japan. However, it remains to be seen if the film is going to have an official English version.
