BTS Jimin boosted the sales of Samyang Ramen by 158 percent in the U.S. and 33 percent in China, proving his strong marketing power.

According to a report by Koreaboo, the growth in the popularity of the noodle brand was determined through the increase in Samyang Foods' export figures between July and August. Rival brand Nongshim Shin Ramyeon, which was the more popular brand of noodles before in the U.S., also saw a 25 percent increase in export sales. However, it was nothing compared to Samyang's 158 percent boost.

It is believed that the global popularity of BTS lead vocalist Jimin may have something to do with the phenomenon. It can be recalled that Jimin is a big fan of Samyang's extra spicy ramyeon. BTS members often watch him devour bowls of the noodles in their videos. Even though the noodles are notorious for being super spicy, Jimin shrugs off the hotness of the Buldak noodles while other members sweat over its spiciness.

It can be recalled that Jimin also sparked a global interest towards tteokbokki when he was spotted at a street stall enjoying the Korean treat. Sales of tteokbokki increased by 25 percent instantly, All Kpop reported.

This was not the first time the Midas Touch of BTS rippled across the world. It can be recalled that "Sold Out King" Jungkook also sparked a 1.62 percent spark in U.S. milk sales after downing a glass for BTS' "Dynamite" MV. This was a major feat since Jungkook was able to reverse the downward trend for milk sales in the United States.

Recently, BTS V's Chuseok outfit also became such a hit that the items he wore with his outfit immediately went out of stock. From shirts to shades and various accessories, ARMYs quickly hunted down the pieces until they were sold out.

BTS is currently preparing for their comeback with the album BE. They teased that their album will feature their most BTS-esque music yet. Big Hit Entertainment said that the album was very personal for the members because they were able to create songs that expressed their emotions as the world went through a difficult time with the COVID-19 pandemic, Metro reported.

The label said that the album will be released with a deluxe edition on November 20. BTS recently concluded their MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E online concert, which was attended by close to 1 million fans from 191 countries in the world.
