This Is Us season 5 is premiering next week on NBC and a lot of stories are coming here. For instance, a sneak peek from the first episode shows Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley) dropping big news on Kate Pearson (Chrissy Metz) and her husband Toby Damon (Chris Sullivan).
As seen in the latest clip of This Is Us season 5, Kevin shows up at Kate and Toby's doorstep to deliver the unexpected and surprising news. The two seemed to be confused, at first, since the former looks excited and nervous at the same time.
Toby even joked that Kevin got someone pregnant, which turns out to be right. He revealed to them that he and Madison Simons (Caitlin Thompson) are expecting twins. Toby and Kate were surprised, especially the latter since Madison is her best friend.
Also, the clip showed the characters dealing with the current health crisis. It can be recalled that This Is Us season 5 takes on a pandemic-themed storyline without changing what was originally planned. All of them were following the proper social distancing measures in order to ensure their safety.
In fact, Kate gave them "air hugs" since they cannot go near each other. Yet, it takes a moment or two for her before she reacts to the news. It seems like she's thinking that it's a complicated situation since Kevin and Madison weren't together when they hooked up.
Despite that, she tried her best to be happy for her brother and her best friend. Kevin and Madison aren't engaged at the moment, but a few hints suggest they'll get to that point in the future. However, it remains to be seen whether or not the two are going to be happy long term.
Meanwhile, the sneak peek teases the surprise appearance of Timothy Omundson as Gregory. He can be seen standing from afar while looking at the four celebrating the news. Kevin saw him and told him: "She's pregnant, it's twins. They're mine."
As for what else is coming in the premiere of This Is Us season 5, the episode will be celebrating the Big Three's -- Kevin, Kate, and Randall Pearson (Sterling K. Brown) -- 40th birthday. It's not a secret that Kevin and Randall aren't on talking terms after everything they've said towards each other.
Now, there's a question of whether the two will reunite patch things up on their 40th birthday. But then, there's no clear indication that they'll try to make things better. It looks like their on-going feud will continue as the new season progresses.
This Is Us season 5 kicks off with its two-hour premiere this coming Tuesday, Oct. 27, on NBC.
