Line of Duty season 6 is in the middle of production when the current health crisis hits the globe. Filming was forced to shut down earlier this year, but the good news is everyone is back to work now. Earlier this month, the cast and crew were spotted shooting in Belfast.

Details about Line of Duty season 6 remain scarce, though there have been hints as to what's coming. Recently, series creator Jed Mercurio dropped something on his Twitter account, prompting fans to speculate whether there's a huge "clue" in the photo.

Mercurio shared a photo featuring a figure wearing full PPE while staring at a warehouse, which had "Arnotts" written on it. What's more intriguing about the post is that it comes with a caption: "#LineofDuty6 cryptic plot clue."

Some fans zoomed in on the image of the warehouse, which happened to be a fruit and vegetable distribution center. However, it is unknown how this image is related or tied to the on-going storyline of the series. One fan is looking for anything in the photo that begins with the letter "H."

Another one suggested that Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) got a "side business" and he'll be dragged more in Line of Duty season 6. Considering the photo, there's a chance the "cryptic plot clue" is about him.

Some fans believed that the photo has a hint that someone would die -- possibly Steve. One fan agreed with this theory, hoping that Mercurio's post is not teasing a character's death. But, while there are a lot of theories about it, others preferred not to have spoilers ahead of the release.

Meanwhile, there's a question about who could be the last member of Organized Crime Gang H. Some suspected that Ian Buckells (Nigel Boyle) is the last corrupt officer, given that only a few things were known about his background.

He was able to climb up through the ranks from his first appearance to Detective Inspector. Buckells has been offering supports to AC-12's core team: DS Steve, Detective Inspector Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure), and Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar).

There could be a reason why Buckells keeps on reappearing. Perhaps, he is "H" or he knows this person that's why he is staying close to the AC-12 team. He is possibly monitoring their moves and doing something to influence their decisions.

In a related report, Mercurio previously shared the first look at Kelly Macdonald's new character Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson in Line of Duty season 6. The photo depicts DCI Davidson sitting in the AC-12 interview room, while Supt. Ted and DS Steve sitting opposite.

Macdonald's character is a senior investigating officer of an unsolved murder case. But then, her unconventional behavior jeopardized her position. DCI Davidson is described as the "most enigmatic adversary AC-12 has ever faced."

Line of Duty season 6 is expected to come out in 2021 on BBC One.
