Apple invites select macOS developers for a one-on-one session with the company's engineers ahead of the rumored launch of Apple Silicon Mac.

Apple sent out invitations to select macOS developers who are members of the Universal App Quick Start Program to join the company's engineers for a one-on-one guidance session next week. The Cupertino-based tech giant said that the goal of the program is to prepare developers with access to the Developer Transition Kit in developing apps for the upcoming Apple Silicon.

Members of the Universal App Quick Start Program get access to all the resources, tools, and support needed to create next-generation Universal apps, as well as have the chance to optimize apps developed with Mac Catalyst and at the same time, test iPad and iPhone apps on the Apple Silicon Mac. Some of these member macOS developers were lucky enough to be invited by Apple for a one-on-one guidance session with the company's engineers in preparation for the launch of the Apple Silicon Mac.

To join the program, you need to fill out and submit a brief application form. Some macOS developers who are lucky enough to be selected by Apple will receive an invitation link that will allow them to buy the Universal App Quick Start Program from the Apple Store. Applicants with prior macOS applications are given priority as there are only limited slots for the one-on-one guidance session with Apple engineers ahead of the Apple Silicon Mac launch.

Apple announced back in June the switch from Intel processors to Apple Silicon on Macs. The company then offered a customized A12Z-powered Mac mini to a few developers. These macOS developers were then able to develop their apps for Apple Silicon Macs before the new hardware is seen by the public. Now, these macOS developers were again invited by Apple to a one-on-one guidance session with the company's engineers before the launch of the Apple Silicon Mac so they will learn more about developing and preparing apps for the Mac's Apple Silicon platform.

Those macOS developers who already have Developer Transition Kits can ask for an appointment with Apple starting today until November 1, 5 p.m. PST, while the one-on-one guidance session with Apple engineers is set for November 4 and 5. The code-level guidance session with an Apple engineer will include special information on how to optimize your iPad, Mac, and iPhone apps for Apple Silicon Macs. These sessions will occur ahead of the rumored launch of the Apple Silicon Mac said to be announced within the year.

While Apple does not mention any reason why they invited select macOS developers for a one-on-one code-level guidance session with an Apple engineer, rumors are rife about another Apple Special Event set for November. These rumors further indicate that Apple may use this special event to officially unveil the first Apple Silicon Macs. If such rumors are true, it is only logical for Apple to invite select macOS developers so they can have their apps ready for the new hardware when the Cupertino-based tech giant finally does unveil them.
