After ridiculing Apple for not including power adaptors in the new iPhone 12 boxes, Samsung gave indications it is likely to follow suit in removing the bricks from its new Galaxy S21 box.

When Apple unveiled its iPhone 12 family during the "Hi, Speed" event on October 13, the company confirmed rumors that its boxes will no longer include power adapters and EarPods. Company officials explained that removing the accessories and making the box smaller is their way of helping the environment. Despite this explanation, Samsung seized the opportunity and went ahead to ridicule this decision of Apple. After only a month, however, Samsung appears to be making an about-face when it indicated that it is likely to remove the power adapter from the Galaxy S21 box.

For several years now, Samsung always criticizes Apple, particularly when the Cupertino-based tech giant comes up with new announcements. The South Korean tech company would often post mocking ads focused on Apple's latest announcements. A few hours after the "Hi, Speed" event, Samsung posted an image of its power brick online along with the caption "Included with your Galaxy" in an apparent swipe at Apple's decision to omit power adaptors in the new iPhone 12 boxes. Now, It seems that the South Korean company is likely to follow suit as rumors surfaced that the Galaxy S21 box will no longer include a power adapter.

A South Korean media site recently reported that Samsung Galaxy S21, which is due for release in 2021, may not come with headphones or a power adaptor. Although there were already talks earlier this year that new Samsung smartphone boxes may no longer include the accessories, many thought the rumors were not true when the South Korean tech company ridiculed Apple for releasing iPhone 12 models without EarPods or a power brick and particularly when it also posted an image of its own power adapter stating that there is one included in every Galaxy phone boxes. Today, it appears that Samsung will follow Apple's path, after all.

Rumors say that aside from environmental concerns, Apple removed the accessories to offset the 5G modem's cost. Samsung may also follow Apple's path and remove the power adapter and headphones from the Galaxy S21 box, which can help cut costs and also help the company earn extra by selling the accessories separately. Although speculations about the removal of the accessories from the S21 lineup is rife, some rumors indicate the South Korean tech company may remove only the headphones but still include the power adapter in the box.

This is not the first time that Samsung executed a turn-around with Apple. Previously, the South Korean tech company made fun of iPhone's design, as well as product decisions made by Apple, but eventually, it also followed the path of the Cupertino-based tech giant. For instance, when Apple omitted the headphone jack from iPhone 7 boxes in 2016, Samsung mocked Apple's decision, only to follow suit in 2018 with the Galaxy S8 where it also omitted the headphone jack. With recent rumors that Samsung may also follow suit by removing the power adapter and headphones from the Galaxy S21 box, it is only repeating history by executing an about-face with Apple and the decisions it once mocked.
