Samsung posts a photo of the Galaxy power adapter with the caption "Included With Your Galaxy," seemingly mocking Apple's decision to omit power adapters from its iPhone boxes.

Apple may have all the best intentions in the world when it decided to exclude power adapters from its iPhone boxes, but rival Samsung saw that the situation is too good an opportunity to pass up. The South Korean smartphone company immediately took to social media and posted a photo of the Galaxy power adapter with the caption "Included With Your Galaxy." Many took Samsung's post to mean that unlike Apple, the South Korean company will keep on including a power adapter in its Galaxy phone boxes for the convenience of its users.

Rumors about Apple not including a power adapter in iPhone boxes were already widespread even before the official launch of the new iPhone 12 family. During the company's "Hi, Speed" event, Apple announced that it is indeed excluding the power adapter in iPhone boxes in a bid to help the environment. Samsung, however, saw a chance to tease Apple about its decision, hence its post of an image of the Galaxy power adapter and the caption "Included With Your Galaxy."

Apple explained that it removed the power adapter and earbuds from iPhone boxes so it could fit in a smaller and lighter box, adding that it allowed them to come near their long-term goal of achieving zero climate impact across its whole business and product life cycle. Sources at Samsung, however, think the real reason is different. After the South Korean smartphone company posted a Galaxy power adapter photo on social media and captioned it with "Included With Your Galaxy," company insiders say the real reason why Apple excluded the accessories is to offset the cost they incurred in upgrading the new iPhones so it supports 5G.

Apple also said that since all their iPhones work with standard chargers and are all backward compatible, there is no need to keep on including power adapters in iPhone boxes. Samsung will not have any of these reasons, prompting them to tease Apple with a Galaxy power adapter photo with the caption "Included With Your Galaxy." Apple, however, insists that since customers have already more than 700 million lightning headphones and many have since moved to wireless experience, it is a waste of time and resources to include power adapters in new iPhone boxes.

"There are also over 2 billion Apple power adaptors out in the world and this does not include the billions of third party adapters. So we are removing these items from the iPhone box to reduce carbon emissions and avoid mining of precious material," said Apple's VP, environment, policy, and social initiatives, Lisa Jackson during the company's "Hi, Speed" virtual event. Despite this explanation, Samsung went on to mock Apple on social media by posting a photo of the Galaxy power adapter and captioning it with "Included With Your Galaxy." Apple has yet to issue a response or comment to the South Korean smartphone company's post.
