Better Call Saul season 6 is still not in production at the moment. The series faced a lot of challenges this year, with the COVID-19 outbreak being the major one. Details about the upcoming installment remain scares and it seems like everyone won't be returning to work until next year.

In a new interview with Hey U Guys on YouTube, Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Gus Fring, teased when the cast and crew are coming back in New Mexico to film Better Call Saul season 6. Originally, the plan is to start everything up in September 2020 -- but the schedule wasn't eventually followed.

Now, Esposito noted that the series could start production in March 2021, instead. This is a long wait for everyone, but it also allows them to have more time and plan more things ahead. It would be easier for them, given that a story set years within the past won't be able to address the pandemic.

Better Call Saul season 6 is confirmed to be the final installment of the crime drama series. A lot of mysteries are needed to be solved here, particularly the endgame of Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), who turned as the Cinnabon man Gene Takocvic in flash-forwards.

Previously, executive producer Peter Gould teased to Entertainment Weekly a few clues how the series may end for Jimmy/Saul. The question is not about "what will happen to him," instead, it's more of "what's a deserving conclusion from him." The ending could either be either death or love.

However, if even if death might be a fitting end of the character, Gould made it clear they won't be leaving Jimmy in this situation. He could probably find another way to get forgiveness and redeem himself after everything that he's done in the past.

Aside from Jimmy, Better Call Saul season 6 needs to address Kim Wexler's (Rhea Seehorn) storyline, as well. Fans have been wondering where the character ends up in the future since she wasn't present in the timeline of the prequel, Breaking Bad.

Kim has been going on the dark path in season 5, with some speculating her actions led her to death. While that is yet to be confirmed, there's a real reason to be worried about her. After all, Gene didn't mention her in the future, suggesting that something bad may have happened to her.

Better Call Saul season 6 will, reportedly, consist of 13 episodes and it is expected to premiere in 2021 on AMC.
