Netflix dropped the first look of The Witcher season 2, just recently. The clip featured more action-packed scenes, as well as the arrival of new terrifying monsters. The upcoming installment will bring more bloody, violent fights and new adversaries.

Henry Cavill is coming back as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher season 2. Even though the series is not coming back anytime soon, Netflix shared footage highlighting the monsters the character faced in the first installment -- including the Devil of Posada and Kikimore.

While the footage featured some familiar monsters from season 1, two new foes were spotted. The clip teased something sinister slithering along the ground, which can be seen at 00:15 seconds in the clip. The new creature looks like a clump of hay or grass and a human eyeball was attached to it.

At 00:30 seconds, another new monster -- even more disturbing -- can be seen. Three skulls emerged from the dark bounded together and mounted in a totem pole. They seemed to be assembled into some sort of a religious rite and found inside a cavern.

The skull in the middle was smeared with blood, while the one on the right was in the middle of screaming. The three wear a dusty clothing and beaded necklace, hinting that the skulls may have been women. These aren't the typical monsters Geralt of Rivia has encountered in the past.

Between the two new monsters, the three skulls were the most intriguing one. There is a possibility that they've come to life at some point. Although it's apparent they've been dead for quite a long time, it's interesting to see what happened to them before they died.

In addition to Cavill, The Witcher season 2 sees the return of Anya Chalotra's Yennefer of Vengerberg and Freya Allan's Princess Cirilla. Also, Game of Thrones alum joins the series and he is set to play the role of Nivellen, a major character in Andrzej Sapkowski's novel series.

In The Witcher season 2, Geralt of Rivia is convinced that Yennefer of Vengerberg died after the Battle of Sodden. Because of this, he decided to find Princess Cirilla a safe place and ended up in Kaer Morhen, his childhood home.

As everyone strives for supremacy outside the walls, Geralt of Rivia must do his best to protect Princess Cirilla. Eventually, he'll realize that something more dangerous is coming -- the princess may have been hiding a mysterious power inside her.

The Witcher season 2 is coming in 2021 on Netflix.
