NCIS: New Orleans season 7 episode 2 will pick up everything that transpired in the premiere. The title of this week's episode is "Something in the Air, Part 2," which is the continuation of the pandemic-themed storyline. Fans going to see certain characters trying to solve a case amidst the health crisis.

In NCIS: New Orleans season 7 episode 2, Tammy (Vanessa Ferlito) and Carter (Charles Michael Davis) will continue to investigate the suspicious death aboard an offshore humanitarian ship, which is infected with COVID-19. Then, they discovered what may have been the reason for the outbreak.

Pride (Scott Bakula) and the team found out that the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) they were sent to distribute could lead them to find out who's the killer. In the first episode, we've seen most of the characters grappling with the impact of the pandemic.

The COVID-19 storyline would be the major focus of the series during its early run. Everyone is feeling the effects of it, with Pride noting they should be prepared for the "storm." While investigating the case in the premiere, some of them were feeling strained because of the health crisis.

For instance, Dr. Loretta Wade (CCH Pounder) was overwhelmed with the huge number in the morgue. She's shocked that the latest body was someone she counseled about the effects of the pandemic. She couldn't believe that this person didn't listen to her.

In NCIS: New Orleans season 7 episode 2, Wade will help a grieving woman who couldn't find her brother -- who died from the COVID-19. Also, Patton (Daryl "Chill" Mitchell) will have his own storyline here. He gets into a heated argument with his goddaughter.

But, amidst all the challenges brought by the pandemic, NCIS: New Orleans season 7 episode 2 will still bring some lighthearted stories. Rita (Chelsea Fields), in particular, is coming back to the city to surprise Pride. Fields, Bukala's real-life wife, has been promoted as a series regular and plays Pride's love interest.

Rita has recurred for the past four seasons, and she'll now appear regularly in the show. Field's promotion means we're going to see her character having more moments with Pride. Their romance will become a significant part of the story moving forward.

Fans first saw Rita in the second half of season 3. She's a District Attorney and Reserve Navy Commander in the JAG Corps but decided to go back to New Orleans to pursue her relationship with Pride. Now, this is a chance to see the two working together at some point.

NCIS: New Orleans season 7 episode 2 airs on Sunday, Nov. 15, on CBS.
