One of the biggest questions entering The Witcher season 2 is whether or not Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) will reunite with Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra). They got separated at the end of season 1 and it raises concern if they'll be together again moving forward.

Now, recent set videos seemingly hint at a reunion for Geralt and Yennefer in The Witcher season 2. Cavill and Chalotra were spotted filming together on a certain scene, in which their characters were riding on their horses. The footage was posted on Instagram by Sara Talib.

These clips strongly indicate that Geralt and Yennefer will spend some time together again in the next chapter. The two have broken up back in season 1, and bringing them back together would be one of the major developments in the latest installment.

However, there is also a chance that this particular scene was set in the flashback. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich promised that The Witcher season 2 will have a more linear storyline. But then, she never ruled out the possibility of delivering flashbacks along the way.

While the videos hinted at a potential reunion for Geralt and Yennefer, it could also be a flashback to when the two were still together. The next chapter sees Cavill's character taking Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) to his childhood home, Kaer Morhen.

Geralt believes that Yennefer died in the final battle in season 1. If the new chapter used the source materials in the first Witcher novel, Blood of Elves, then the two won't reunite until late in the book. Hence, the scene of them being together could either be a flashback or took place closer to the end of the season.

Meanwhile, The Witcher season 2 started production in early 2020 but was halted due to the coronavirus outbreak. Filming resumed just recently, but it was, reportedly, shut down again after some cast and crews tested positive for COVID-19.

Deadline reported that the series halted its production for the second time after four people tested positive for COVID-19. It wasn't revealed who among the cast and crews were infected, but the report noted that none came for the lead stars.

The four people have been isolated and a new round of testing is being conducted to determine whether the virus has spread. Netflix, on the other hand, has yet to comment when the filming could resume. Because of this delay, the official premiere date may have been pushed back, as well.

The Witcher season 2 is expected to come out at some point in 2021.
