Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, are flying to Germany to attend the Central Remembrance Ceremony in Berlin on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020. But this National Day of Mourning comes a day after the Prince of Wales turns 72 years old, which means he will abroad to perform his royal duties while celebrating his birthday on Nov. 14.

According to Daily Express, the upcoming commemoration is the first time a member of the British royals will participate in a German event. It's also the first joint travel outside of the country for the couple, who had to hold off trips abroad together in the last eight months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prince Charles and Camilla will witness the laying of the wreath at the Neue Wache Memorial and attend the Bundestag service upon the invitation of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Queen Elizabeth's heir will also speak at the German Parliament.

Clarence House confirmed that Prince Charles and Camilla won't need to quarantine for two weeks due to diplomatic exemptions. However, other travelers to Germany from the U.K. will still need to observe self-isolation for 14 days. The royal pair, however, will have to undergo a COVID-19 test two days after they leave the U.K, per the Press Association.

This trip to Germany is only the second royal travel abroad for Prince Charles this year. In July, the Prince of Wales went on a solo trip to Kuwait to extend the Queen's condolences to the family of Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, who died at the age of 91 following an illness.

Meanwhile, despite the strides Prince Charles has made as the heir to the throne, his life continues to be hounded by his tragic first marriage to Princess Diana. According to Variety, BBC is pushing forward with a fresh investigation into the Princess of Wales' bombshell interview from 25 years ago.

In the newly-released documentary The Diana Interview: Revenge Of A Princess, editor Ian Corcoran said that Princess Diana wanted her Panorama interview with Martin Bashir to come out on Prince Charles' birthday. In it, Princess Diana told the world about her husband's affair and the breakdown of their marriage.

The scandal is blowing up the headlines again as new details are apparently emerging regarding how BBC and its staff were able to convince the princess to speak out against her husband. Clarence House hasn't commented on the recent headlines about Princess Diana's Panorama interview.
