Selena Gomez maintained her silence concerning the previous allegations involving her to Demi Lovato's former fiancé. While she continued to do so, new speculations emerged after Max Ehrich posted a selfie on Instagram.

The 29-year-old actor shared a photo of himself on the platform on Wednesday. He used a caption similar to the lyrics of one of the "Ice Cream" singer's tracks.

Ehrich said that he wants a "gf," which Cheat Sheet clarified as "girlfriend." The same publication, then, reported that the post immediately attracted the attention of Gomez's fans because of the caption's similarities to the artist's 2020 song, "Boyfriend."

Many of Selena Gomez's fans seemingly think that Max Ehrich is trying to get the attention of the artist. Some of them even took the time to reply in the comment section, noting that the "Wolves" singer is a good option if he is, indeed, looking for one.

While the publication pointed out the possibility that Demi Lovato's former fiancé is not referring to anything or anyone, Gomez's fandom, reportedly, has a reason to believe so.

Earlier in September, controversies linking the "It Ain't Me" singer to Lovato and Ehrich's relationship emerged. It all came after netizens unearthed the latter's decade-old posts on Twitter, expressing his love and adoration for Selena.

Several screenshots blew up the social media platform, alleging that the actor had "romantic" and "intense" feelings toward Gomez. The whole debacle became even more news-worthy in the eyes of the public as Demi Lovato called off the engagement two weeks later. Many individuals, then, concluded that Selena Gomez was likely the reason behind the break-up.

But, days before the split, the "Sorry Not Sorry" artist slammed the allegations and called them "fake," according to People. She released a statement before her followers, noting that it saddens her to see the public pits "women against each other."

Despite the noise on social media, Selena Gomez did not seemingly pay attention to the allegations. She appears to have focused on her career, considering that it was the peak of her collaboration with BLACKPINK for the track, "Ice Cream."

Meanwhile, Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich have yet to break their silence about the break-up. Sources told People, however, that it was "tough" for the former pair to call off the engagement just a few weeks after the "Heart Attack" singer accepted the marriage proposal.

Lovato and Ehrich confirmed their relationship amid the pandemic crisis when they made an appearance on Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande's "Stuck With U." Four months into the relationship, the actor surprised his then-girlfriend and asked her hand in marriage.
