Brianna Fraser's (Sophie Skelton) trauma in the past will continue to hunt her in Outlander season 6. She has been through a lot at the hands of her assaulter, Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speelers). While she got her revenge on him, the horrific events that she experienced remain to be a huge part of her life.

Brianna tried to move forward with her life and married Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) in the fifth installment. The two also welcomed Jemmy, the result of Stephen's assault. Her son provided a distraction from remembering what happened to her, but her trauma will continue to play out in Outlander season 6.

While she found happiness with Roger and Jemmy, Brianna still struggles to settle on Fraser's Ridge. Skelton said that her character tried to become happy and overcome her trauma, but everything that happened to her in the past will be part of her for the rest of her life.

The things that she experienced at the hands of Stephen haunt her, but the good thing is that Jemmy stopped her from thinking about the assault. Skelton explained that Brianna decided to look after her son rather than dwelling with her own demons.

Brianna wasn't able to sleep well because she remembers what Stephen did to her. Jemmy distracts his mother from thinking about horrible events as the child doesn't sleep. The demons slip back into her mind when she goes to bed, so being awake and focusing on her son helped her divert her attention.

However, although everything is seemingly going back to normal, Skelton revealed during the Paley Fest earlier this year that Brianna will be dealing with more struggles in Outlander season 6. The actress said that everything could happen to a person, and her character has been through a lot.

In the next chapter, Brianna will experience more challenges and Skelton teased that it would be exciting to see what's left to do. She further added that the sixth installment is an "absolutely packed season," hinting more dramatic and emotional moments are coming.

In another report, Outlander season 6 hasn't started filming as of this writing. But, lead star Sam Heughan (Jamie Frase) teased that production could start "soon." Speaking to Live With Kelly and Ryan, the actor told hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest that work is underway, particularly costuming.

However, executive producer Maril Davis previously shared on Twitter that they don't have an official start date until now. She made it clear that they don't announce their filming schedule unless they're officially back in production.

Outlander season 6 is slated to come out at some point in 2021.
