Itziar Ituño hinted at the possibility of Money Heist season 6 even though Netflix already confirmed the heist crime drama series is ending after season 5. The Spanish actress, who plays Raquel Murillo/Lisbon, is open to playing more of her role despite the show coming to an end.

Speaking to Vertele, Ituño didn't rule out the possibility of Money Heist season 6 happening at some point. While she said that it's the right decision to close the series after season 5, she teased that the series might be "reconsidered" in the future.

The series, also known as La Casa De Papel in Spanish, becomes an instant hit following its release on Netflix. Many viewers love it, and many were shocked the story is ending in the fifth installment. Some were hoping the streaming service will change its mind -- like what it did to Lucifer.

However, even though Ituño welcomed the possibility of Money Heist season 6, the actress thinks that certain stories should have the right length so that it won't turn into a "gum that stretches until it breaks." The series will likely deliver a proper ending to every character and will not leave a cliffhanger.

Ituño admitted that it's tough to say goodbye to her co-stars since they've worked together for five years. While she's open to the idea of Money Heist season 6, she noted that it would be better to leave people "wanting for more and not feeling embarrassed."

In July, Netflix announced that the show is coming to an end. Following the news, series creator Alex Pina said they'd spent almost a year finding a way to destroy the band. In season 5, he teased that the war reaches its most extreme and savage levels.

Pina didn't reveal why the series is ending, but the series creator's statement seemingly hinted the storyline is just coming to a natural end. Although Money Heist season 6 is unlikely, he mentioned the possibility of spin-offs during an interview with OprahMag in April 2020.

Pina said that the strong and powerful identities of the characters allow them to make more stories. He explained that each of the characters has a duality that they would like to see in a spin-off series. Nothing is officially confirmed at the moment, but fans are hoping to see the characters back again.

Meanwhile, the series finale is due to arrive next year on Netflix. The final chapter will continue to follow The Professor (álvaro Morte) and the team's plan to escape the Bank of Spain after infiltrating it in season 3. All of them are in a dangerous situation and must find a way to complete their plan.
