Barely a year with Borussia Dortmund, Erling Haaland continues to dominate in Europe as the striker registered a record 33 goals in just over 30 appearances with the Bundesliga club. So it's unsurprising that rumors of the 20-year-old moving away started spreading but BVB said Haaland is staying, and for a long time.

The Dortmund ace is tied with the Germans until 2024 but a release clause on his contract is set for activation in 2022 and already giants clubs are actively in pursuit of the youngster. With Haaland so far showing that he is a top-caliber marksman, the thought of paying £67 million in transfer fee seemed a worthy investment to make for possible suitors.

The list of those hovering around includes Manchester United, Liverpool, and Real Madrid. But according to Michael Zorc, who is in charge of players' movement at BVB, Dortmund's rival clubs are in for a long wait.

"We plan for the long term with Erling. [The rumors] do not have to be dealt with at all ... I will see him with us for a long time," the executive said, and per the report by Goal.

Also, Zorc expressed confidence that Haaland's excellent run in form will be sustained and Dortmund will not slow down the forward a bit. He added that the star shining and scoring at will is good for the football club.

Still, the statement made by Zorc will not necessarily rule out a move away for Haaland. The star has stated in several instances that his career goal points him to playing for teams outside of Germany. The youngster admitted that he sees himself in England and doing what he does best.

Alf-Inge Haaland, the star's father and former Leeds United player, offered no contradictions on the revelations that came from his son. He explained that it's only natural for the younger Haaland to aspire for the Premier League.

"Most players dream of being in the Premier League at one time or another. The league gets the most attention around, and it has very good quality teams. There is no doubt the Premier League is attractive to him," Mirror reported the older Haaland as saying.

Speculations are rife that if indeed the Haalands will make the decision soon to make the jump, the favored club would be Manchester United. The English giants have been linked with Haaland since late 2019 and it was widely reported that Bundesliga was to sign with the club but for some reason ended up with Dortmund in January.

Yet for now, Haaland's father is brushing aside the transfer rumors. The top priority, for now, is to win honor and titles with BVB and Alf-Inge stressed his son can do so with "a fantastic team" such as Dortmund.
