It has been a truly busy year for MONSTA X as they released three different albums and participated in numerous shows in 2020. Luckily, all that hard work has finally paid off. Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and IM have just attended the Asia Artist Awards 2020 to perform and walked away with the first Daesang in their career.
It's no secret that MONSTA X have always wanted to receive a major award for their work. After all, the idols often talk about their dreams of being recognized by the music industry. Amazingly, the idol group had finally achieved their goal for a Daesang when they were presented with the Stage of the Year Award at the Asia Artist Awards 2020.
In early November, it was confirmed that MONSTA X would be one of the performers at the Asia Artist Awards 2020. The line-up would include Super Junior, Twice, GOT7, AB6IX, PENTAGON, THE BOYZ, Stray Kids, ONEUS, (G)I-DLE, IZ*ONE, and many more. The news immediately had fans hoping that the boy group will be presented with an award at the event.
The members of MONSTA X were understandably moved by the win and immediately thanked their fans with an emotional shout-out during their acceptance speech. Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and IM would later continue thanking Monbebes on their social media accounts and fan cafe.
The broadcast of the AAA was met with several problems. Although it was originally scheduled for November 25, the ceremony was moved to November 28 due to COVID-19-related regulations. In addition to that, the broadcast had to be delayed by two hours because of technical problems. Nevertheless, the awards show managed to continue without any hitch once the technical problems were fixed.

• Trot of the Year: Im Young Woong
• Stage of the Year: MONSTA X
• Album of the Year: NCT
• Performance of the Year: GOT7
• Artist of the Year: TWICE
The year may almost be over but MONSTA X will continue to be busy throughout December. They are expected to perform at the Mnet Asian Music Awards where they are also nominated for Artist of the Year, Best Male Group, and Worldwide Fans' Choice. Needless to say, the boy group have a good chance of taking home more awards before the end of the year.
