Ruthie Henshall is sorry for her shocking revelations about her past relationship with Prince Edward while participating in the reality TV series I'm a Celebrity.

The musical theater star was evicted from the show on Sunday night and the apology was one of the first things she said after she got out of Gwrych Castle in North Wales, where the show was filmed.

Henshall said that she has forgotten that cameras and microphones record everything inside the castle for the TV show. She intended her comments about her sex life with Prince Edward for only one person: fellow contestant Shane Richie.

The celebrity said that she was joking with Richie and said something that wasn't supposed to be heard by the viewers. This happened on her first day at the castle, when she had no idea that the cameras and the sound will pick up everything.

In her conversation with Richie, Henshall admitted that she fell in love with "the lovely bloke" Prince Edward so hard. She confessed that she had intimate relations with Queen's youngest son in the bedrooms of Buckingham Palace.

The singer also said that she had dinner with Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, Princess Margaret, Prince Charles and Prince Edward at the Palace, where she tasted her first martini. The royals asked her to sing, but she was sure it wasn't her best performance because she was drunk.

The artist said that she would likely never get an OBE from Queen Elizabeth after this TV appearance. However, it was enough for her to make Richie laugh on the show.

Henshall dated Prince Edward on and off for five years until the early 1990s. The royal went on to marry Sophie Rhys-Jones in 1999, and Henshall was one of the wedding guests with her then-fiancé John Gordon Sinclair.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex have been married for 21 years and have two teenage kids together. Henshall, on the other hand, has two children as well with ex-husband Tim Howar.

Henshall said in another interview that people warned her the producers of I'm a Celebrity are hoping she will spill some beans about the royal family. The celebrity said that she only realized much later that whatever she did say would have serious ramifications.

The series, which is on its 20th season, premiered on Nov. 15, but filming took place months ahead amid the COVID-19 restrictions. Henshall was the second contestant evicted from the castle on the fourth day of its run.
