The highly anticipated Apple M1 Macs are now official. Apple said that aside from incredible performance, game-changing power efficiency, and custom technologies, the new devices allow iPhone and iPad users to run apps natively. However, a new report reveals that "Call of Duty Mobile" players should think twice about playing the hit shooter game on Apple's latest computers.

While it is tempting to load up "Call of Duty Mobile" and use a controller to enjoy the game on M1 Macs, CultofMac advises not to do this. The report claims that the hit mobile game from Activision and Tencent should not be played on macOS because players could get banned.

Multiple "Call of Duty Mobile" players who tried to play the game on Apple M1 Mac claimed that aside from getting their accounts banned, all the progress they made are no longer available, and they could no longer log in, the report added.

Several other "Call of Duty Mobile" players share their experience on Reddit. Among them is YouTuber David Harry, who has been testing games on Mac. The content creator describes the same issue in one of his recently uploaded videos available below.

So far, it is not clear if the ban was because "Call of Duty: Mobile" could not recognize the hardware yet. Others speculate that the game developer may think those playing the game on Apple M1 Mac are utilizing jailbroken iOS devices. The game restricts jailbreaking since it could be utilized by other players to use exploits to their advantage.

There is also a chance that there are games that are not yet officially supported by Mac for some undisclosed reasons. Activision and Tencent have not issued any statements related to this issue. For now, "Call of Duty Mobile" players should take extra caution when attempting to play the hit mobile shooter game on their Apple M1 Macs.

Meanwhile, "Call of Duty Mobile" is anticipated to release in China sometime in December. There is no official release date yet, but the game is currently in its final testing stage. Tencent has been very active in the region, promoting the upcoming game.

Unlike in other parts of the world, Tencent has to tweak the original "Call of Duty Mobile" game for China. The region has stringent regulation policies when it comes to apps and games. The company only got the Chinese government's release approval last August while the game is already available to the rest of the world since Oct. 1, 2019.
