The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 5 is set to arrive next week on History Channel. The previous episodes saw the team making significant discoveries on the mysterious island. The upcoming episode will continue following the fellowship in their attempt to uncover the speculated Money Pit.

The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 5 picks up what happened in episode 4, which sheds light on the Knights Templar theory. Over the past years, the Lagina brothers, Rick and Marty, have been searching for evidence to prove that the Knights Templar were once present on the island.

The team theorized that the Medieval Christian Sect might have buried a treasure on the site, presumably the Money Pit. In season 7, historians told the team that the geometric figure in the paintings of Nicolas Poussin might lead them to the location of the speculated valuable items.

Later on, it was revealed that the geometric figure was actually equivalent to a treasure map. Now, in The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 5, the Laginas and the team will look for more evidence to prove their claim about the Knights Templar theory.

The theory was fuelled when the fellowship uncovered a "perfect line" which seemingly originated in Jerusalem, leading through Versaille, and ultimately ends in Oak Island. They believe that this finding could help them in solving some mysteries surrounding the island.

The crew members were certain that the Knights Templar might have dug up Solomon's treasure, where Menorah can be found. They speculated that the treasure was transported in North America for safekeeping. However, the Menorah was believed to be buried somewhere in Oak Island.

The fellowship will continue to dig to find more clues in The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 5. The Laginas tried unearthing what lies beneath the ground but only to find piles of rocks. Yet, nothing could stop them from investigating and digging up the co-ordinates.

Meanwhile, Gary Drayton and Jack Begley made some discoveries in the recent episode, as well. They uncovered axes, which were speculated to be centuries old. As for the Oxen Trail, this discovery wasn't addressed in the fourth episode though the investigation about it may continue in the coming weeks.

The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 5 airs on Tuesday, Dec. 8, on History Channel.
