The Curse of Oak Island season 8 sees the team making a lot of significant discoveries since it premiered in early November. Brothers Rick and Marty Lagina continue with their search in unearthing the Money Pit. Their hunt for the speculated treasure leads them to find more clues about the mysterious island.

Despite the restrictions due to the COVID-19, the team still managed to continue working in The Curse of Oak Island season 8. All of them went on a quarantine period before proceeding with their investigation in the swamp, which is the major site of excavation this time.

In the first few episodes, the team already unearthed a lot of valuable items. For instance, Gary Drayton found an old coin with a hole at the center of it. They believed that this item belonged to the Chinese -- though it's unknown how it ended up on the island.

Another major discovery was the oxen trail, which implies that heavy industrial activities occurred on the island. However, this finding wasn't entirely explored in the fourth episode as the team shifted their focus on something else. They're back with their theories regarding the Knights Templar.

Over the past years, Rick and Marty have been looking for evidence to prove the Knights Templar's activity on the island. Along with their team, the two theorized that the Medieval Christian Sect possibly buried treasure in the area.

Back in season 7, historians have noted that Nicolas Poussin's paintings have geometric figures, which could lead them to the location of the buried valuable items. Later on, they were able to confirm that the geometric figure is equivalent to a treasure map.

The team will attempt to look for more evidence on their Knights Templar theory in The Curse of Oak Island season 8. They are further determined to make an exploration after discovering a "perfect line," which originated from Jerusalem, passes through Versaille, and ending in Oak Island.

Meanwhile, the team is still trying to dig up other valuable items and clues that may have been lying beneath the ground. However, they usually ended up finding piles of rocks. But, Drayton and Jack Begley unearthed axes, which they estimated to be centuries old.

The fifth episode of The Curse of Oak Island season 8, titled "The Master Plan," is arriving on Tuesday, Dec. 8, on History Channel.
