British actress Sophie Winkleman has opened up about her experience as an outsider marrying into the royal family. The televisions star, best known for her roles in Two and a Half Men and Peep Show, married Queen Elizabeth's nephew, Lord Frederick Windsor, in 2009.

Winkleman, who is now known as Lady Frederick Windsor, said in an interview that she has been "incredible welcomed" by the British royals. The actress said that she hadn't had a "single negative experience" in her 12 years of marriage to Lord Frederick because her husband's relatives, especially the Queen, Prince Charles, and Prince William, are wonderful and have always looked after her.

Lady Frederick, who occasionally acts on TV, also revealed that no one from the royal family told her off about her roles. She hinted that they're not the type to meddle even if she wants to take on racy roles.

Incidentally, in 2008, the actress starred in the miniseries The Palace, which is about a fictional royal family. Lady Frederick said that she has yet to watch The Crown on Netflix, which has received criticisms for its depiction, especially of Prince Charles and Camilla in season 4.

According to People, despite Lady Frederick's similar background with another actress in the family, Meghan Markle, the two haven't had a chance to bond. Lady Frederick said that she met the Duchess of Sussex a few times, but they weren't able to spend more time together to really get to know Prince Harry's wife. However, Lady Frederick could describe Meghan as someone with an "admirable energy and focus."

Lord and Lady Frederick also lived in Los Angeles for a few years, early on in their marriage, because of her work on Two and a Half Men. They have since moved back to the United Kingdom following the birth of their children. Their first child, Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina, is in the same class as Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

During this pandemic, Lady Frederick organized a fundraiser for The Big Issue, a charity magazine that benefits the homeless. She revealed that the senior members of the royal family have been helpful in her efforts to raise funds. Lady Frederick said that she could always rely on at least seven people among the royals for fundraising advice and efforts.

Lady Frederick is the daughter-in-law of Princess Michael of Kent, formerly known as the Baroness Marie Christine von Reibnitz. Princess Michael is the third member of the House of Windsor to contract COVID-19 after Prince Charles in March and Prince William in April.
