There is little doubt that people have been waiting for significant updates on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier considering that the Marvel Cinematic Universe series was supposed to air earlier this year. Despite the delay, it has been confirmed that fans will only need to wait a few more months before they can see the MCU show on Disney+. The release date for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has just been revealed through an awesome first trailer.

It's no secret that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was set to be one of the first Marvel Cinematic Universe shows that would air on Disney+ before the end of the year. Unfortunately, production had to be put on hold due to COVID-19. This would mean the cast and crew could only resume filming later in 2020 and that the series premiere would be postponed to a later date.

There haven't been a lot of updates on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. However, that changed at the recent Disney Investor Day event where the studio unveiled several announcements about its upcoming projects. This included the first trailer for the Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie series that also revealed its official release date.

The trailer for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier opens with a tribute to Captain America. Although Sam Wilson is proud of his friend, he also feels the pressure of being the one to whom the shield has been passed on to. "The legacy of that shield is complicated," he says to Bucky Barnes.

Interestingly, Bucky Barnes finds a different way to encourage his companion. "The world is upside down," he says. "People need something to get behind. They need the symbol."

The teaser offers a very small glimpse at Daniel Bruhl as Baron Zemo being confronted by Bucky Barnes. However, the trailer is basically a montage of action sequences, and there's a completely different character who is shown going up against Bucky.

It has already been confirmed that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story actress Erin Kellyman will be joining the cast of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Interestingly, it looks like she will be playing one of the bad guys as she fights against Bucky Barnes in the trailer. For now, the identity of Kellyman's character has not yet been revealed, but new details could be dropped as the show draws closer to its premiere.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is set to air on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
