Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 6 is going to be the final installment this 2020. The medical drama will be going on a winter break after this one. The title of the upcoming episode is "No Time for Despair," and it sees most of the characters still struggling with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The current condition of Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) has been a major concern after being infected with the virus. She remains unconscious and unresponsive, causing worries to the doctors and nurses. But, it looks like she's going to wake up in Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 6.

The promo of the upcoming episodes featured the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital on surge capacity protocol. The staff is feeling the pressure and overwhelmed with the number of people infected with the COVID-19. Then, at the end of the clip, Meredith was shown lying on her bed and waking up.

Ever since the premiere, Meredith wasn't in a good shape. Shortly after being infected with the virus, she fell unconscious and was in a beach dream sequence since then. She came across her later husband Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), and her late friend George O'Malley (T.R. Knight).

While Meredith is seemingly waking up, there is a question of whether she's going to return to her usual self. The virus may still have a lingering effect on her, so she may not be able to return to work immediately in Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 6.

Also, it remains to be seen if the beach dream sequence will continue later on. Fans have been waiting for another character -- presumably dead -- appearing in Meredith's beach scene. However, this won't likely be featured since the focus is on the COVID-19 outbreak.

Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 6 brings a significant story for both Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) and Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd), as well. They're going to put their jobs on the line after encountering the most controversial surgeries ever in their entire career.

The upcoming episode will also feature a crossover with the spin-off, Station 19. There's going to be a kidnapping incident and the firefighters will respond to it. But then, this won't be easy for all of them and one of the characters is in grave danger.

Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 6 will be airing on Thursday, Dec. 17, on ABC.
