Melania Trump and the rest of the Trump family face the wrath of Stephanie Winston Wolkoff amid the city's case against them. Following her deposition on Wednesday, Attorney General Karl Racine described the testimony as "honest, truthful, and fulsome," according to the Daily Mail, adding that this "strengthens" the case.

Racine pointed out that he could not talk about the details of the engagement. But, he said that Wolkoff's deposition "demonstrates" how the First Family "took advantage of the Presidential Inaugural Committee, and funneled money." He continued that it essentially amounted to $1 million, which he claims to have reached the family's "pockets and purses" through the Trump International Hotel.

Sources, later on, told the same publication that Melania Trump "should have thought twice" before letting Stephanie Winston Wolkoff take the fall over the controversial inauguration that took place in 2017. The family, including the First Lady, reportedly, thought that Wolkoff would "just quietly go away but, quite the opposite."

The insiders continued that, apart from not walking away, Melania's former best friend has now become "one of the key witnesses" in the suit against the Trump Organization, the Presidential Inaugural Committee, and the Trump International Hotel for their alleged "misuse of non-profit funds."

The former White House staff, also, reportedly, has "millions'' of documents, 20,000 of which she already supplied to prove the First Lady's involvement in the whole debacle. There is an accusation, as well, toward Ivanka Trump over devising "false narratives" that Wolkoff ran off with millions of dollars.

The lawsuit emerged from the DC Attorney General's office earlier in January 2020, according to Business Insider India. During the announcement, the AG's office noted that Stephanie Winston Wolkoff "raised concerns" about the Trump International Hotel's rate during the inauguration in 2017. But, despite this, the committee still entered into a contract amounting to a total of $1.03 million.

Melania Trump's former best friend, later on, faced scrutiny when the White House pointed fingers at her about the inauguration spending. The administration, also, let go of her from her post because of the whole controversy.

Wolkoff has since turned against the Trumps. Apart from taking explosive interviews to share her side of the story, she, also, released a memoir titled, Melania and Me, detailing her "friendship" with the First Lady, as well as her stay inside the White House.

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff wrote shocking and explosive claims, painting the Trump family members in a bad light. She even shared details of the alleged rift between Melania Trump and Ivanka Trump.

Following the release of the memoir, Wolkoff supplemented the material with her "secret tapes." She secretly recorded her conversations with the First Lady in 2018.

Melania remained tight-lipped about the issue until later this year when she penned an open essay. She did not mention her former staff's name nor the book but, she indirectly referred to it as a book of "idle gossip," and has since denied the allegations.
