Melania Trump missed her chance to become Tatler's cover for its November 2020 issue. Sources claimed that the East Wing managed to land the First Lady an exclusive interview with the magazine, covering Donald Trump's campaign ahead of the presidential race last month.

The news first came to public knowledge when Miranda Devine wrote about Melania's "awful support," which references Stephanie Grisham's alleged "ill service" to the White House on the New York Post. The columnist included several points to support the hypothesis, including the "lost opportunities" such as the Tatler cover, according to The Sun.

Devine explained that the First Lady's Chief-of-Staff failed to "negotiate" the deal with the magazine. As a result, Meghan Markle took the post and posed for the magazine with the headline, "What's Next?".

The East Wing, reportedly, "eschewed" offers from several American publications, including Women's Wear Daily and The Post. In the end, the writer revealed that her sources are trying to "save" Melania Trump from keeping Stephanie Grisham.

Miranda Devine, also, tackled the dynamic of the First Lady's relationship to her Chief-of-Staff. Trump insiders stated that Melania is "too trusting" of her.

Stephanie Grisham served as the White House Press Secretary and Communications Director before coming to the East Wing. Former colleagues of hers, then, claimed that she did not do her job "well." Others, also, told Devine that Grisham "finagled" her way to obtain her post.

Following the reports, publications have since reached out to the White House for comment. But, the East Wing remains tight-lipped about the issue.

This is not the first time Melania Trump lost a cover to another celebrity. Reports recalled her statements in 2018 through the secret tapes Stephanie Winston Wolkoff released earlier in October.

In one of the recordings, the First Lady expressed her "shock" after learning Vogue featured Beyoncé for its September 2018 issue. She added that the magazine "would never" reached out to her, adding that she does not "give a f***," according to the Daily Mail.

Wolkoff released the secret tapes amid the promotion of her memoir, Melania and Me. She claims to be Melania Trump's "former best friend" and revealed what happened in their friendship.

The former White House staff, also, included several explosive allegations in the material. These include the First Lady's reported "tension-filled" relationship with Ivanka Trump, as well as their alleged plans to "block" the First Daughter's movements inside the White House.
