James Harden is set to rejoin the Houston Rockets but the superstar is not rescinding his request to be traded. The former MVP is hoping to join up with a team that could finally give him an NBA ring but it seemed that the prospect of completing a deal so soon is low.

Harden is said to be eyeing three teams. His list includes the Miami Heat, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Philadelphia 76ers. The last two are believed to be the former scoring champion's favorites but it's a big question mark if a trade will be seen in the coming days.

As things stand now, Harden's trade possibilities have been limited and partly to blame is his insistence to talk only with the organizations he preferred. That is why it is likely the deadline will pass and no deal on the star's Rockets exit will be closed, according to Clutch Points.

The report pointed to NBA executives as sources, and these insiders also claimed Harden might be traded midway through the next season. The difficulty also lies on the demands made by both sides, like Houston is not letting go of Harden if the pieces on the table are not named Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving.

Unsurprisingly, the Nets agreeing to lose any of KD and Irving is out of the question so the Rockets are compelled to look for another trade partner. The same reported suggested that Houston's hunting might just end by talking with the Sixers.

The Sixers could be willing to release one of their two major stars and if they have to pick, the one to be traded is likely Ben Simmons, and the package is thought to be acceptable as far as the Rockets are concerned.

Houston implemented some adjustments to convince Harden that staying is good for his career but the franchise will likely make the big move given the prevailing situation. For one, Harden is not at all moved by the recent roster changes that happened on his current team.

DeMarcus Cousins is now on board and Russell Westbrook was shipped off to the Washington Wizards for John Wall. It's not a bad deal at all with Wall being an All-Star in five occasions but Fadeaway World said Harden still wants out.

So the Rockets have no choice but to continue trade options for their superstar and the dealings will likely extend into the next season's campaign. With his mind already elsewhere but in Houston, Harden must get to a new team the soonest as he is not expected to play his best while wearing the Rockets shirt.
