The controversy centering on Jill Biden and her doctorate continues to develop these past few days. Following essayist Joseph Epstein's bombshell op-ed, which urges the incoming First Lady to drop her "Dr" title, netizens across the globe have rallied behind her to support her.

But, the tune seemingly changed after one Matt Bethlehemanti first pointed out the many problems of Biden's dissertation that earned her her doctorate. On Twitter, he broke down the thesis and outlined "examples of poor writing and math errors," according to Fox News.

Bethlehemanti began by sharing that he was reading the "executive position paper." He described it as "bad," noting that Biden wrote it at the age of 55.

Throughout the Twitter thread, he quoted Jill Biden based on her 2007 dissertation. He made remarks, as well, proving his point that the document itself is problematic.

One of Biden's statements follows, "the unique nature of the classroom allows for a complexity of problems as well." Bethlehemanti, then, commented that the person who wrote it, "expects, on the basis of this effort, to be called 'doctor.'"

The series of posts continued and many netizens expressed their opinions about the paper. Contrary to the overwhelming support she received the previous days, the incoming First Lady and her dissertation have obtained more criticisms and mockeries.

Jill Biden "received a pity Ed.D," one netizen replied to the thread. "It's a shitty paper," another one commented.

Biden "was already married to Joe, a famous politician," another critic said, adding that the committee was likely "glad for the publicity" when the former Second Lady was defending her dissertation. "Imagine the dissertation committee that passed this dreck," a different Twitter user added.

This "shows the lack of academic rigor to get [an] Ed.D at the University of Delaware," another claimed. This is "much better written than Michelle's at Princeton," one netizen said, adding that it was "semi-literate." The creator of the thread, then, replied to it saying that he will look into it come the weekend.

The whole debacle over Jill Biden's doctorate and dissertation first emerged when the Wall Street Journal published Joseph Epstein's piece. Apart from explaining why the incoming First Lady should drop the insistence over the public referring to her as "doctor," he, also, mentioned her dissertation's title and described it as "unpromising."

Yahoo! News, later on, released an opinionated article, recalling Joe and Jill Biden's statements as to why she sought after her doctorate. The former Second Lady previously revealed she was "so sick" of seeing the mail with addresses, "Sen. and Mrs. Biden," noting that she wanted it to be "Dr. and Sen Biden," instead.

The writer, then, said that the public could tell if "someone is smarting from an inferiority complex" when one is insisting on the public to call them "doctor" even if they are not a physician. The piece, in its entirety, calls Biden's doctorate as "garbage" all because her dissertation is one.
