Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have packed up and left Frogmore Cottage just six weeks after moving into the home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the U.K.

According to royal sources, Meghan Markle was miserable in this 19th century home but was Princess Eugenie also unhappy living in this mansion?

The York princess and her husband are reportedly back at their smaller Ivy Cottage property in Kensington Palace after barely two months of stay in Frogmore. Initially, Harry was delighted to let his cousins stay at his house as Eugenie prepares to welcome her first child with Jack in early 2021.

Eugenie and Jack's arrangement with Harry and Meghan has not been detailed, but it is understood that the Sussex pair will keep paying rent for Frogmore even if they are now living in the United States. Sources from the Palace, however, said that senior members of the royal family were blindsided by this arrangement.

This sparked speculations that Queen Elizabeth ordered her granddaughter to leave Frogmore since the mansion is not for Eugenie and Jack. A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still regard Frogmore Cottage as their private residence in England. Thus, any arrangements they've made with Eugenie and Jack are a personal and private matter.

But when Meghan lived in Frogmore after Archie's birth, she apparently felt isolated from the life she was accustomed to in the United States. The property is miles away from the bustle of London, which compounded her loneliness.

Meanwhile, Eugenie has her parents nearby in the same Windsor estate. Thus, it's unlikely for her to feel miserable in this mansion. Prince Andrew's the Royal Lodge, which he shares with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, is just a few minutes' drive away from Frogmore.

However, Eugenie also loves life in busy London, where she works as an art gallery director at Hauser & Wirth. Her only sister Princess Beatrice lives in the city as well, so this might have some influence on why Eugenie changed her mind about staying at Harry and Meghan's place.

Some royal observers said that Eugenie and Jack's surprisingly quick stay in Frogmore could indicate that Harry and Meghan will finally come home to the U.K. after almost nine months of stay in America. The last time the Sussexes flew was in March, and a trip back home could be up in the cards.
