Ford has been mostly silent when it comes to updates on the promised electrified F-150 truck. The automaker said the pickup should be out of the production lines in the second half of 2022 but prototypes are already being tested, and one was spotted impressing on a snow drift maneuver.

Ford supplied the teaser, a 24-second clip posted on Twitter, and it proved one thing - that the EV version of the iconic truck is just as monstrous and powerful as the original. Dealing with all terrain will not be a problem for the machine on wheels and winter use will be as smooth as possible.

The video shared confirmed that the 4WD variant is part of the F-150 electrification and it should be welcome news for pickup fans. Ford is reassuring them that the electric model of the truck will be as equally capable.

The latest F-150 teaser provided no specific details but according to The Drive, the EV version is tipped to come with a generator, located in the truck's bed, to recharge the battery pack while in use. This should ensure that the pickup will boast of hundred miles driving range.

Ford has yet to divulge the numbers but it should be safe to assume that the electric F-150 will cover more than 300 miles per charge, which is the confirmed EPA rating for the Ford Mustang Mach-E. it will come as no surprise that since the two EVs will have the same brand badge, they will roll out sharing some features and functionalities.

The electric F-150 clip did show that the pickup is a beast in the making in terms of performance, and that is only expected. Ford's engineering prowess will make it possible for the modern truck to casually flex its muscle in real-world use.

When it is ready for commercial debut, the pickup will make use of compact dual motors that allow the use of a powerful 4WD system with monster traction capability, according to Electrek. The report added that summer and winter test drives so far of the electrified F-150 have indicated that the truck is at least the equal of its original version.

Ford did show that the electric F-150 will deliver to expectations whether in normal driving mode, in off-road terrain, and during heavy towing missions.

The all-electric F-150 will enter the production phase in 2022 and Ford said the plan is to bring the truck to the market as soon as units are certified for road use. If the timeline is not disrupted, the F-150 is poised for a massive showdown with upcoming rivals such as the Tesla Cybertruck and GMC Hummer EV.
