Better Call Saul season 6 hasn't started production at the moment. The crime-drama has faced several challenges over the past few months, mostly because of the COVID-19 pandemic. There's still no official timetable for the filming schedule, but it seems like the cast and crew are inching closer to it.

Although nothing has officially started, work is currently underway for Better Call Saul season 6. There is no exact date when production could begin, yet it looks like everything could start in the coming months, particularly in 2021.

In a recent interview with Deadline, co-creator Peter Gould discussed what's being done behind-the-scenes. He revealed that they're in Zoom room every day and even meet for two weeks in the beginning. He also described the works in the upcoming season as "trying to dance in quicksand."

Gould added that they have "few more scripts" compared to the preceding installments. While nothing is certain, he noted that they're planning to begin filming new episodes of Better Call Saul season 6 "early next year." However, everything still depends on the current global health crisis.

In the event filming begins in early 2021, there is a huge possibility that the upcoming installment could premiere later on in the same year. But, if they encounter other setbacks along the way, there's a possibility that the release date will be pushed back -- presumably in 2022.

Meanwhile, Better Call Saul season 6 is going to be the final installment of the AMC series. A lot of questions are needed to be answered here, particularly where Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) ends up in the present and where she is in the Breaking Bad timeline.

There's a huge concern for the character, given that she's seemingly embracing her dark side in the fifth season. It remains to be seen whether she ends up dead or alive. However, the biggest concern is that she wasn't mentioned in the future, indicating that something bad may have happened to her.

Beyond this, there are also a lot of questions surrounding Bob Odenkirk's Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman/Gene Takocvic. In a past interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gould teased that those watching the series will see what the character deserves.

Gould noted that the question wouldn't be about "what happened" to the character, but more of "what's a deserving ending" for him. Perhaps, Better Call Saul season 6 could see Jimmy finding some redemption and forgiveness for all the things he has done.
