The Golden State Warriors are struggling to get things together. Most know that it will not be easy for the Dubs to recall their winning ways and players being held out due to injuries is not helping.

For now, it remains to be seen how long the patience of the Warriors will hold. They are already without Klay Thompson for the second-consecutive season. Marquese Chriss is out for the season as well after suffering a broken leg injury.

The good news is that one of the Warriors’ Big Three may be back in harness soon. Draymond Green has yet to play this 2020-21 NBA season but is on the road to recovery. He could be suiting up once the Warriors staff feels he is ready to spring back into action.

There is no denying that the 30-year-old can provide the Dubs a big boost once he is back. However, there is no assurance that Green’s return can help the Warriors get back on track. Hence, there is a chance that Golden State may consider some changes with the three-time NBA champion possibly anchoring a potential deal.

Such a scenario was raised by NBA Insider Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. He speculated that if the Warriors continue to falter, they may change things up and continue rebuilding. Green could be up for trade and Haynes added that there is a team interested in his services.

“I’ll say this. If Draymond comes back and they don’t fare well, we could see a scenario where Draymond will be put out in the market for trade bait,” Haynes stated. And I know a team, oh my goodness, I know a team that would be salivating, if that was the case. I’m not going to mention it,” he added.

There is no denying that Green would be an asset to any team. Though he has no big numbers to show, the three-time NBA All-Star has been known to be a pillar on defense. Aside from that, he is the energizer for the Dubs at select moments. Without question, those are traits that any team would have – especially the ones who want someone who can do a bit of everything.

For now, these are speculations and should not be taken seriously. The Dubs are 2-2 so far and it is still too early to tell if trading Draymond Green would be a need.
